Minnesota Veterinary Hospital Blog
We bet you and your kids are looking forward to spring break this year. Whether you plan to escape for a bit of warmer weather or visit friends and family in a nearby town, provide your pets with a safe and comfortable vacation with us. Our boarding staff would love to welcome your four-legged best friends to MN Vet for a home away from home while you’re out of town.
Why Board Your Pet Instead of Bringing Her?
Let’s be honest, most pet parents don’t like leaving their pets. But it’s often in the best interest of your pet to avoid travel. Travel disrupts your pet’s routine and can come along with dangers like distracted driving and dehydration.
From car sickness to a new environment, travel can be unpleasant for pets.
Bringing your dog or cat can also be inconvenient. Boarding your pet with us eliminates the headaches that can crop up when traveling with a pet including hotel pet fees, finding pet-friendly accommodations, and worrying about walking your dog.
You have enough to worry about when planning a trip. Let us plan for your pet.
What Does Our Boarding Facility Have to Offer?
We offer a safe and comfortable environment where your pet can rest and relax while you’re away. What does that look like?
Our boarding staff provides each pet with plenty of individual attention. Your cat will be stroked and doted on. Your dog will love receiving fresh air, walks, and ear scritches along with plenty of compliments, attention, and exercise.
You don’t have to worry about your dog coming home with kennel cough or your rabbit or cat getting fleas. We require all pets that stay with us be parasite free and up-to-date on all vaccinations to protect all of our guests.
We work to understand and provide your pet’s personal needs. From diet to behavioral needs, all pets are unique--and we love that. When you reserve your pet’s boarding, we try to learn as much as possible about your pet to be able to exceed your expectations and provide your pet with the best stay possible.
When your pet stays with us, she’ll receive balanced meals and any medication she needs.
Staying with us also ensures your pet has adequate veterinary care if the need should arise.
And we’re available to communicate with you while you’re away.
What Does Your Pet Need to Stay with Us?
We need a copy of your pet’s vet records if we don’t already have them. Your pet also needs to be current on her vaccines and free of any parasites.
When packing for your pet’s stay, you can include her bed, a blanket, a few toys, and her food (if you prefer it to ours or it’s a prescription blend). We have plenty of treats.
What Else Do You Need to Know About Boarding Your Pet with Us?
If you are planning daytime activities for the kids, you can bring your dog by for daycare.
We also offer pet grooming, so your pet looks and feels her best when you reunite.
