Food allergies in dogs can be difficult to identify, so it is important to keep a close eye on your pet and investigate any abnormal symptoms as soon as possible. Allergies are triggered when allergens invade the dog's body and upset its delicately balanced immune system. A number of things can cause food allergies in dogs, but certain foods, such as beef, lamb, chicken, dairy products, wheat, and soy, are more likely to cause allergy symptoms than others. It is important to note that food allergies are different from food intolerances, as food intolerances are caused by poor digestion of certain foods.
